UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER NEW ORLEANS, AN LCMC HEALTH FACILITY

NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA

 

HARTZ Search invites you to explore an exciting opportunity with our client, University Medical Center, an LCMC Health hospital for the Chief Executive Officer. University Medical Center is an Academic Medical Center with 446-licensed bed, Level I Trauma Center and affiliated with LSU Health New Orleans and Tulane University School of Medicine. The CEO will lead the organization in the creation of a culture, which has at its core the highest level of commitment to quality outcomes, patient experience, employee engagement, operational discipline, financial stewardship, accountability, and pride.  Together the CEO and Administrative Council will lead University Medical Center to achieve operational excellence and sustainable financial performance. The CEO must be a change agent and coalition builder to engage LSU and Tulane faculty physicians as partners in clinical and operational excellence. A Service Line model is used to drive growth and clinical programs in concert with the Chief Medical Officer and Chief Financial Officer. The future CEO will develop and implement a strategic vision and plan for University Medical Center to position itself as a regional provider of choice known for clinical, academic, and research excellence, while staying true to its mission and vision.  The CEO will engage and partner with LSU and Tulane leadership in the delivery of the highest quality clinical care and medical education. This person will serve as brand ambassador and will lead strategy and operations of University Medical Center and collaboratively engage, entrust, and inspire its Administrative Council to lead the organization in their respective areas of responsibility.

 

University Medical Center desires a transformational Chief Executive Officer who will encompass LCMC Health’s mission, vision, and values. The CEO will represent University Medical Center in the Greater New Orleans community, regionally, and nationally; and will advocate on behalf of University Medical Center, the patients it serves, and its dedicated employees. Prior experience and leadership on national, regional or state-wide boards or commissions is desired.

 

Louisiana Children's Medical Center Health (LCMC Health) is a nonprofit network of healthcare providers in Southern Louisiana, based out of New Orleans. Members include academic centers, acute care facilities, and research hospitals.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • An undergraduate degree in business, finance, healthcare, medicine or commensurate area of study.
  • B.A, M.H.A. or equivalent is required
  • D., O.D, or Ph.D. is preferred

 

Experience

  • Understanding of resident and medical student education, academic research and clinical trials.
  • Significant experience at a senior executive leadership level within a hospital or healthcare system; academic medical center/teaching hospital and/or healthcare system.
  • Experience in managing boards and academic relationships. Must be confident and comfortable with senior leaders in academics, healthcare and business.
