HARTZ Search invites you to explore an exciting opportunity with our client ThedaCare in Appleton, Wisconsin for the Vice President, Talent Strategy. ThedaCare is a community health system consisting of seven hospitals, numerous clinics and related services; ThedaCare is the third largest health care employer in Wisconsin and the largest employer in the state's second largest economic market - Northeast Wisconsin - with approximately 6,800 employees. The VP Talent Strategy provides leadership of talent strategy, processes, and programs. Provides leadership and direction for the development of ThedaCare’s talent philosophy and the alignment of processes that establish a talent mindset throughout ThedaCare. Oversees talent acquisition, performance management, talent development, succession planning, leadership continuity, high potential identification, and development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE VP, TALENT STRATEGY:
1) Talent Acquisition
Lead and manage the Talent Acquisition strategy and team to develop and deliver effective talent acquisition strategies. The successful candidate will lead our recruiting team of more than 15+ recruiters and will leverage internal and external resources to ensure they are properly allocated to support each critical business need.
- Develop and execute talent acquisition strategies that enhance the organization's visibility/reputation in key recruiting markets
- Position ThedaCare as an employer of choice in partnership and alignment with ThedaCare’s marketing and branding team
- Lead and manage the workforce planning process and talent acquisition activities
- Formulate and implement an employment branding strategy that effectively articulates ThedaCare’s employee value proposition in order to attract top talent
- Leverage and manage social media (GlassDoor & Indeed) to attract quality candidates
2) Human Resource Business Partnering
Lead a team of human resources business partners (HRBP) as strategic partners for leaders across the system to align efforts with talent-related, business objectives. The HRBPs will leverage expertise across human resource functions to facilitate strategy, problem solving, and process improvement. The business partners will influence leaders, develop an engaged culture and execute on key initiatives.
3) Talent Management
In collaboration with key stakeholders, establish and drive the organizational approach to Talent Management. Establish a 'talent development culture' while building a robust talent pipeline where talent is properly calibrated, developed and promoted. Provide vision, leadership, coordination for the design and implementation of an organizational talent philosophy to ensure a consistent approach in the management of talent and alignment of HR programs. Lead and develop foundational talent management processes of performance management, talent development, succession planning, leadership continuity, high potential identification and development. Support regular review and analysis of best practices relating to talent management initiatives. Establish and maintain ongoing relationships with peers and partners in key organizations and companies.
4) Change Leadership
Develop deep relationships with both the business and the HR organization to facilitate a shift toward a deliberate management of talent across the organization. Help senior leadership shape the culture toward a talent mindset by infusing a focus on talent into organizational priorities and critical discussions, such as business unit plans, new initiatives, and future priorities to ensure we are addressing the required capabilities of the future and development of talent to meet those needs. This involves thoroughly understanding business needs and priorities and translating these into practical solutions.
5) Program Management
Oversee the direction and implementation of talent management processes and lead the development of an integrated talent management portfolio. Develop and present an array of innovative ideas and talent management concepts for consideration and implementation.
6) Talent Assessment
Know and assess talent throughout the organization. Develop a macro- and micro-view of talent needs across the organization. Design and implement talent assessment process and be able to lead talent assessment conversations ensuring calibration and consistency.
7) Team Management and Performance
Creates a vision and roadmap for the team that provides direction and alignment of current state requirements and future state needs. Elevates team members' thinking and understanding of the field by infusing best practice knowledge into the work. Manages the selection, development, and coaching of team members. Ensure that job requirements and goals for each position are clear to employees.
Additional Information & Requirements:
- Reports to Chief Human Resources Officer
- Ten years of progressive experience in talent leadership, internal human resources consulting, organization development, leading organizational change, and change management initiatives in complex work environment
- Bachelor’s degree in related discipline required, Advanced Degree Preferred
