CHIEF HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICER LCMC HEALTH NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA   HARTZ Search invites you to explore an exciting opportunity with our client, LCMC Health, for the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO).  LCMC Health desires a seasoned professional as the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) to lead and drive the transformation of the human resources function that supports the organization's overall strategic direction. Ensure alignment with the company's strategy; this role will be highly strategic. The role will lead the human resources teams, advise and partner with senior leadership, build infrastructure, and secure the impact of elevating the human resources function across the health system. The CHRO will partner with operational leaders to build the future workforce, advance organizational leadership and development, and maintain core values in a rapidly changing healthcare environment while driving operational efficiency and excellence. A wide-ranging degree of creativity, as well as near-and long-term vision, is required for this role.   LCMC Health is a nonprofit network of healthcare providers in Southern Louisiana based out of New Orleans. LCMC Health encompasses nine hospitals and ERs and employs 2,800 board-certified physicians & providers and approximately 15,000 employees.    

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The CHRO role will be an advocate for employees at the senior leadership table, the voice of the organization when interfacing with employees, a solid strategic business and tactical partner to the senior leadership team, an executive leader for the human resources team, an effective ambassador for the organization in creating the brand as the employer of choice, and an advisor and confidential sounding board to executives in the organization. The CHRO partners with the Chief Diversity Officer to drive the organization's commitment to strengthening its diverse, equitable, and inclusive position. The CHRO promotes a culture of inclusion, teamwork and cohesion, accountability, and high performance within the human resources organization. This role leads an energetic, collaborative, and performance-driven human resources culture that partners with people leaders to deliver and train mission-ready talent.  
  • Develop an overall human resources strategy that advances the organization's strategic plan.
  • Provide leadership to the human resources team in talent acquisition, human resources operations, total rewards, employee and labor relations, employee engagement and retention, employee wellness, and organizational development functions.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with the organization's leaders by demonstrating an understanding of business/strategic/fiscal goals/priorities and helping identify how HR can support execution and successes.
  • Promote alignment and consistency of total rewards including compensation, benefits, and retirement plans.
  • Lead system-wide support in change management initiatives.
  • Design and promote accountability tools such as dashboards for the human resources functions.
  • Develop goals for the human resources function and direct their execution, ensuring that team members have the necessary resources to meet them; review HR performance to establish goals to ensure continual improvement in HR service delivery.
  • Partner with hospital and ambulatory facility leaders and local HR teams to ensure alignment and integration of the human resource functions.
  • Works collaboratively with key stakeholders on human capital strategy.
  • Responsible for the Human Resources budget, including employee benefit programs, ensuring appropriate fiscal responsibility.
  • Oversee all aspects of HR policies and procedures; compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulatory standards of the Department of Labor, Affirmative Action, OSHA, The Joint Commission, and others.
  QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Position reports to the Chief Operating Officer
    • Oversight of 4 Direct Reports, 140 FTE’s and budget responsibility.
  • Education Required:
    • A bachelor's and master's degree in Human Resources, Business, Liberal Arts, or a related field is required.
  • Experience Required:
    • Ten+ years of experience as a leader in a complex healthcare environment is required.
    • Labor relations experience is a plus.
    • Workday experience is a plus.
  • Licensure/ Certification Requirements:
    • SPHR or SHRM Certifications preferred.
        ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
  • Demonstrated experience as a consultant and advisor to senior management in all human resources areas, including talent acquisition, employee relations, employment and labor law, compensation, and organizational development.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and understanding of group dynamics. Successful track record of establishing credibility and trust with a diverse senior leader group.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, creative problem-solving, judgment, negotiating, influencing, and strategic decision-making skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy.
  • A strategic mindset that can demonstrate a creative approach to optimizing impact.
  • Demonstrated ability to advise on and implement organizational change.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development and execution of organization-wide initiatives.
