After an extensive national search, Keck Medical Center selected Richard Fleig as the Administrative Director of Facilities Management.

The Administrative Director of Facilities Management is responsible for the strategic direction, operational oversight, and leadership for facilities management functions across Keck Medical Center of USC, ensuring the safety, reliability, and operational excellence of the physical environment while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.  This position serves as executive advisor for facility issues, provides leadership and direction to subordinate management and organizes the activities of the facilities management functions which are necessary for maintaining all physical structures, mechanical/electrical systems, central plants, and utilities in an operative and safe working condition.   Additionally, Richard will also serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on capital planning, campus development, and energy efficiency.

Richard joins Keck Medical Center of USC from Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP) where he served as Senior Director, Facilities Engineering & Construction Management.  At IEHP, Richard oversaw a healthcare portfolio across 6 regional medical centers leading engineering, construction, maintenance, and sustainability programs to ensure compliance, efficiency, and asset longevity. He drove enterprise-wide facilities strategies that align capital projects and operational initiatives with organizational goals.  Prior to IEHP Richard was the Director, Facilities Engineering & Enterprise Lifecycle Management for City of Hope.  At City of Hope, Richard oversaw enterprise-wide Facilities Engineering, capital planning, and lifecycle management for a 7.2M sq. ft. clinical, medical, and research portfolio across 4 regional medical centers, directing central plant operations, biomedical services, and energy programs to ensure compliance, reliability, and operational excellence.

Richard earned his Master’s of Business Administration and his Bachelor’s of Science, with minors in Project Management, from the University of Phoenix.  Richard is a certified Project Management Professional and Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager.
