After an extensive national search, Lake Charles Memorial Health System selected Charlie Lathram as the Vice President of Physician Services to lead the development and execution of the Memorial Medical Group (MMG) strategic planning, co-lead the MMG Physician Leadership Council, develop the MMG budget and financial performance, and ensure effective communications with providers and staff.
Charlie Lathram will report directly to the President and CEO of Lake Charles Memorial Health System.

Prior to joining Lake Charles Memorial Health System, Charlie was the Chief Executive Officer for Galen Medical Group, an independent physician-led multi-specialty group in Chattanooga, TN. Over his six-year tenure, some of Charlie’s notable achievements were expanding specialties and service lines such as pharmacy and significantly growing providers. Charlie has won awards for his exceptional leadership, such as the Champions of Healthcare Innovation Award from the Times Free Press (2022), Thomas H. Stearns Medical Executive of the Year from the TN MGMA (2022), and the Rise Above Award from MGMA (2020). Before joining Galen Medical, Charlie was the Administrator at Springhill Physician Practices, and prior to that, he was the President at Advanced Physician Solutions.
Charlie earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and is pursuing a master’s degree in industrial and organizational psychology from Alder University. He is a Fellow of the American College of Medical Practice Executives, a Certified Compliance Professional, and an active member in his local chapter of MGMA, where he recently finished his term as President.
