Hartz Search is excited to announce the placement of Dr. David Pierce as the Chief Medical Officer of Rochester General Hospital.

After an extensive national search, Rochester General Hospital selected Dr. Pierce as the Chief Medical Officer to provide medical oversight, direction, and leadership for the organization. Dr. Pierce will create an environment of collaboration, respect, transparency, accountability, and engagement fostering opportunities for growth and professional excellence, and empowering providers and staff at RGH. Dr. Pierce will provide medical oversight, direction, and leadership for the organization.
Dr. Pierce will report directly to System Chief Medical Officer of Rochester Regional Health, Dr. Robert Mayo.

Dr. Pierce has spent the majority of his career in New York State. He joins RGH from WellNow where he served as the Chief Clinical Officer. Prior to his role at WellNow, Dr. Pierce, was the Regional Chief Medical Officer for Honest Medical Group. Dr. Pierce also held a number of leadership positions for Kaleida Health, starting as the Chief Quality & Patient Safety Officer at Millard Fillmore Suburban and DeGraff Memorial Hospital and ending as Chief Physician Executive of Kaleida Health. Dr. Pierce earned his bachelors degree in biology from SUNY University at Fredonia and his medical degree from the University of Guadalajara. Dr. Pierce completed his fifth pathway program at New York Medical College and his residency in emergency medicine at Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine.
