Hartz Search is excited to announce the placement of Dr. William ‘Will’ Brown as the Chief Medical Officer!

After an extensive national search, Lake Charles Memorial Health System selected Dr. Brown to implement best practices, develop strategic plans, establish relationship and rapport with all medical staff, set short-and-long-term objectives while overseeing and guiding daily activities related to the Medical Staffing Office. Dr. Brown is responsible for defining the overall clinical strategy and direction of Lake Charles Memorial Health System in partnership with LCMH Executive leadership. As part of the Chief Medical Officer’s duties, Dr. Brown is also the hospital’s Compliance Officer and is responsible for ensuring that the facility meets all regulations set forth by governing bodies and completing all required reports.

Dr. Brown will report directly to the President and CEO of Lake Charles Memorial Health System, Devon Hyde.

Prior to joining LCMH, Dr. Brown spent the last ten years of his career rising through leadership positions with Presbyterian Hospital, the largest hospital in New Mexico. Dr. Brown started as a Medical Director for Perioperative Services in 2014, became the Program Medical Director – Surgery in 2016, and became the Chief Medical Officer and Vice President of Medical Staff Affairs in 2018. As CMO and VP of Medical Staff Affairs, Dr. Brown improved patient and provider satisfaction and HCAHPS scores.

Dr. Brown earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Tulane University and his Doctor of Medicine from LSU Health Shreveport. Dr. Brown completed his residency in general surgery and his fellowship in colon and rectal surgery.  Dr. Brown holds a Master of Healthcare Administration from LSU, Shreveport.  He also has an executive coach certificate from the College of Executive Coaching.
