Hartz Search is excited to announce the placement of Micaela Cortes as the Manager of Benefits at Southeast Georgia Health System!

After an extensive national search, Southeast Georgia Health System selected Micaela Cortes as the Manager of Benefits. The Manager of Benefits performs administrative duties relating to the functioning of the Human Resources Department, specializing in the administration of various team member benefit plans, including, but not limited to, health, dental, vision, short/long-term disability, life, Family Medical Leave/Leave of Absence and the retirement programs. Micaela will be responsible for administration of employee benefits in all company operations. As needed, she will provide special guidance and assistance to all company locations on various employee benefit plans. The Manager of Benefits will develop, recommend, and install approved, new, or modified plans and employee benefit policies, and supervises administration of existing plans.

Micaela joins Southeast Georgia Health System from URMC Finger Lakes Health in Geneva, NY. She started there as a Benefits Specialist five years ago, and for the last almost three years has held the title of Compensation and Benefits Manager, where she oversaw all employee benefits for the organization. URMC Finger Lakes Health is a hospital system that consists of two hospitals, one surgery center, four long term care facilities, seven primary care practices, seven specialty care practices and a college of nursing. Prior to URMC Health, Micaela was an Executive Employee Benefits Account Manager at Wells Insurance which is an independent insurance company serving the Carolinas for 100 years.

Micaela received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Nazareth College of Rochester.
