HARTZ Search is excited to announce the placement of Amanda Turner as the new Senior Director of Emergency Services for Centra Lynchburg General Hospital and the Gretna Medical Center!

After an extensive national search, Amanda Turner was named as the new Senior Director of Emergency Services for Centra Health! In this role, she is responsible and accountable for directing the nursing and clinical support activities at the hospital(s) and in conjunction with appropriate administrative and physician leadership the ongoing development of clinical programs and services of the hospital. Ms. Amanda Turner leads, plans and implements plans to manage the growth of the department, improve patient experience metrics and develop collaborative partnerships with providers, and improve throughput issues.

Amanda Turner has been with Centra Health since 2004. She has worked as a Registered Nurse in Trauma for the Lynchburg General Hospital, as well as Director of the Centra Urgent Care in Forest, Danville, and Farmville, VA. Amanda has 17 years of clinical and leadership experience in intensive care, emergency medicine, trauma, and ambulatory care. She led Centra Health Lynchburg General Hospital through two successful Level II trauma center state designations, as well as directed the Centra’s ambulatory COVID response.

Ms. Amanda Turner earned her BSN from Liberty University and an MSN from Capella University. She is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Basic Life Support, and she is trained in Basic Disaster Life Support and HICS.

Centra Lynchburg General Hospital is a 358-bed hospital, Magnet Designated, Level II Trauma Center, Top 50 Cardiovascular Hospital, Beacon Award, and Forbes Safest Hospital in America.  Centra Lynchburg General Hospital’s Emergency Department has 51 beds and manages over 85K annual visits with multiple PODS to manage Behavioral Health patients, Pediatrics, and Ligature Free PODS.  The ED utilizes a Fast-track system, triage space, and has a need for growth. The Gretna Medical Center is a free-standing Emergency Room that manages over 30K annual visits.
