After an extensive national search, Dr. Emily Sedgwick was selected as the new CEO for University Medical Center New Orleans LCMC Health.  University Medical Center New Orleans is an Academic Medical Center with 446-licensed bed, Level I Trauma Center and affiliated with LSU Health New Orleans and Tulane University School of Medicine.

Dr. Emily Sedgwick is an experienced leader in academic and non-academic complex medical systems of both employed and affiliated/non-employed physicians. She is currently Executive Chief Medical Officer for the University of Kentucky hospital system, a $2.98B organization comprised of 4 hospitals and over 12,000 FTEs, serving patients from Kentucky, West Virginia, northern Tennessee, and southern Ohio. With 15 years in healthcare leadership, she has been a leader in non-profit and for-profit hospitals, a multi-specialty physician group, an Accountable Care Organization and a Clinically Integrated Network. She is skilled at leveraging data and interdisciplinary teamwork to realize operational and clinical results aligned with organizational strategy. In 2018, she was recognized as Press Ganey’s National Physician of the Year for her excellence in patient-centered care redesign.

Dr. Emily Sedgwick’s distinguished career spans Academic Medical Centers, For-Profit Community Hospitals and leadership in a large faculty practice plan: 

  • Executive Chief Medical Officer for University of Kentucky Healthcare. 
  • Chief Medical Officer for HCA Houston Medical Center & HCA Houston Healthcare West
  • Chief Quality Officer of Faculty Group Practice & Associate Professor for Baylor College of Medicine

Dr. Emily Sedgwick earned her Bachelor’s degree from University of California, as well as her Medical Degree.  Dr. Sedgwick is currently completing her MBA from University of Massachusetts – Amherst and is a Certified Physician Executive, by the American College of Physicians.

Dusti Everett brings her talent and experience to Baylor Scott & White from Summerlin Hospital Medical Center in Las Vegas, NV. She is skilled in the creation and management of policy and processes to improve quality outcomes, patient satisfaction scores, and ED throughput metrics, through collaboration with the Adult ED Medical Director and the Pediatric ED Medical Director, along with other service line leadership throughout the facility. Dusti has 14+ years of clinical experience, with more than 7 years of Nursing Leadership experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center – Emergency Department seeing more than 75,000 patient visits per year, a Neuro-Trauma Intensive Care Unit, and a NeuroTrauma Progressive Care Unit for a Level 1 Trauma and Level 1 Stroke Center.

Hugh Leasum joins Baylor Scott & White Health Hillcrest Medical from Marshfield Clinic Health System in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. At Marshfield Clinic, he was a Nurse-Manager where he directed and managed the twenty-four hour delivery of optimal patient care. Hugh was responsible for the recruitment and retention of the frontline patient care staff and for guiding and leading our nurses to provide the best patient care services in accordance with the organizational goals and initiatives. This role interactively works with physician and allied provider staff on their unit(s) with the goal of best patient outcomes and patient satisfaction. Before joining Marshfield Clinic, Mr. Leasum was Manager, Cardiovascular ICU at HSHS St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Hugh earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the Bellin College and his Master of Business Administration from Western Governor’s University.

Steve recruits for his alternative payment and fee-for-service thought leadership, thrives on helping HMHS advance its enterprise initiatives, manage payer relationships, and provides contract support to department staff.
